June 03, 2002 BONES Comic Commentary:
My mother was studying photography at the time I drew
this. As I was graduating 8th grade, she was graduating
in her return to college. Having visited a few darkrooms
during that time, it was fresh in my mind and resulted in
this. I've been asked before if this one was a direct rip-off
from Gary Larson's Farside, since it's so similar in style.
In actuality, it wasn't. The style was an influence, but
the idea was mine. |
