March 25, 2002 BONES Comic Commentary:
Silly irony at its best. Instead of flesh rotting
off due to leprosy, my skeletons instead grow flesh
when afflicted with this disease. :)
In reality, leprosy doesn't cause "rot" as such. It
attacks the skin and nerves, causing lesions, numbness,
and muscle weakness. It can attack the eyes and lead
to blindness, and the numbness can lead to self-injury
which in turn can lead to loss of digits, severe burns
and infections, etc. It's insidious, but luckily today
it's curable. |
